Vietnam has a visa waiver policy for citizens of 25 countries. Nationals of these countries can enter Vietnam without a visa for a stay of 14 to 45 days, depending on their nationality. To qualify for visa exemption, travellers must:

• Be citizens of an eligible country
• Have a passport valid at least 6 months after the date of entry into Vietnam
• Have at least 2 blank pages in their passport

Electronic visa (e-Visa) in Vietnam

Vietnam also offers an electronic visa (e-Visa) for citizens of 80 countries. The e-Visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days and allows multiple entries into the country. To apply for an e-Visa, travellers must:

• Be citizens of an eligible country
• Have a passport valid at least 6 months after the date of entry into Vietnam
• Complete an online application form
• Pay the visa fee of $25 for a single entry visa or $50 for a multi-entry visa

The e-Visa application can be made online on the website of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. The visa is usually issued within 5 working days.
